March has gone. That was fast! April is already here, unexpected, yet very welcome. The winds have changed, now the air it's clear, fresh, and brings scents of the approaching summer, with its colors, joy and cheerfulness. In my head mixed emotions start to play a wrestling game: happiness and anxiousness for the upcoming trip back to Canada and to my husband; melancholy and sadness for leaving my country, family, cats, friends, work, my home here. I am a World Citizen, though, always been, so wherever I lay my feet I am at home. All that I need is inside me. I take my husband's hand and I am where I want to be.
Let's see in pictures what March has brought with it:
Some beautiful days, with flowers blooming on the trees. Like this Mimosa tree, with its bright yellow flowers taken as the symbol of the Women's Day (March 8th).
Nature waking up, with more and more buds on trees and bushes (and you know how much I love flowers).
New great sweet recipes baked from my kitchen in Rome, like the Pain Brioché, the Pasticcini, the Orange Ginger Bundt Cake, the Chocolate cake...
A nice visit with my cousins in Vicenza, the exhibit and some good food from my aunt:
- Me and my cousin
- Vicenza
- Exhibit
- Fried Anchovies
- Squash Risotto
- Artichokes and Potatoes
Some time with my cats Orazio and Olimpia, that now live with my parents and love my mom to pieces...
Some good reads, in italian and english, including "Chocolat" that I read for the first second time:
“Happiness. Simple as a glass of chocolate or tortuous as the heart. Bitter. Sweet. Alive.” ― Joanne Harris, Chocolat
Some more art shows, some good laughs, some good cries.
Time with myself, time with friends. Loyal, true friends, that don't forget you just because you now live most of the time across the ocean from your home town.
And that was pretty well it....
April, I'm coming home.
I love baking and kneading dough because it takes me to a happy place in my soul.

Hello Nicoletta,
Your blog is very inspiring. I can tell by the way you blog about food and friends that you are very passionate about both. I love to bake and would appreciate if you would share your recipes. The pictures look mouthwatering! I hope to try to make both the orange ginger yogurt cake and the nutella pain brioche that I saw on your blog.. Can you help me out?
